Saturday evening as my day is just coming to rest after playing with the kids out in the snow/ice, I get a text message of the following pictures of this beast of a buck shot in Southern Wise County. He will probably be our new County Low Fence Record. It took me a while to go to sleep that night after seeing this!
Bill Huddleston of Decatur shot him Friday December 6, 2013. They had him on game camera November 21st this year and had him underscored by 15 inches by looking at the picture. This encounter was the next and last encounter they would have with the beast since the November game cam picture. His son, Chad Huddleston tells me they are going to have the local wildlife biologist get an exact score and see if their measurement of 176 4/8 is true and correct. This is proof Wise County has some big wallhangers, but you just have to hunt them!
*Supposedly the Wise County Low Fence Record is in the low 170’s killed near Denton Creek on the East side of Wise County and was harvested by a man named Ronald Patterson. This one will probably top that!* *CREDIT: Brian Hand
EDIT: Official score was 176 7/8 gross non typical and net was 170 1/8

That is one beast of a buck!
Way to go Bill! Awesome!
Woooowza!
Where was this taken or shot? It looks like a deer by eagle mountain lake where we go and observe deer. The left antler with the fork and kicker is identical. Plus I see no hole. Just curious.
It was actually killed in Wise County, but not close to Eagle Mountain Lake. I don’t think it could be the same deer.
Sure looks like the same one. I guess the locals there would have pictures and would be able to verify it if it was. Nice animal. Where was the animal shot? I really dont see an entry or exit bullet wound on the deer.
It was hunted near the Boyd area and was shot right in the heart. you can see a little bit of blood on some of the pictures, but they did a good job of making it presentable for pictures.
Holes everywhere . Look into this one.
Can’t say exact location where shot. Request g.w. To look at tag. Probably processed by them . Keep going back sb to location. If he does not show it would not amaze me. Bow hunters most of em crooked!
Hahaha, y’all crack me up! Would you guys feel better if I posted a game camera picture of this buck under the feeder? I know exactly where he was harvested.
Hahaha… You guys crack me up! Would you guys like a picture of him under the feeder from the game camera? Would you feel better then? Local wildlife biologist has already had it in their hands…
Decatur resident hunting Boyd? My guess he was taken by eagle mountain lake and transported to Boyd . Lucky cause his buddy lived close to where he was taken
Funny I usually have the record setters # in my phone to text him when I bag a big one. Strictly coincidental or premeditated !
Let me know where conspiracy theory’s get your conspiracy theories get ya… All because someone says they have a deer that looks like him in a picture. Not the fact that it was family land, on game camera, and recorded for county record by the local wildlife biologist…. I would l would love to see sb’s picture of the look alike.
Poaching is illegal. Game cameras work on people, too.
